I was an early member of GC.com and a willing charter member. As of late, the de-listing of one of my favorite caches because of someone else giving GC.com bad information about the cache has dampened my entusiastict support of the parent site. Good luck in your new venture. I'll wait and see how it developes

Good to see someone doing something. I wish I knew what I could contribute besides my willing verbal support. I'm pretty good at being grumpy and could probably be your tough man if you decide you want some physical violence .... um.... well maybe that's not what you're looking for, never mind on that. |

Just popping in to say Hi from the other side of the pond.
Good luck with this venture. I'm sure there is more than enough room for everyone. _________________ Information - not control |

| Just stopping in to say hi and to check out the site. I'm not sure what to make of what's going on in our community. I hope this isn't a dying recreational activity (That was for you Greenback!!). I have met alot of really nice people via geocaching. |

The formerly exciting, underground-feel of geocaching is over. Time to find a new sport.
There are people who want to spend their time 'popularizing' geocaching. "Hey, lets get everyone involved". I don't care to stand in line, waiting to get to the cache. Sure, let's prove the goverment agencies correct; place a cache on their land and have masses of geocachers from the city trample their plants and throw McDonald's litter all over.
Virtuals, locationless and most currently placed micros are stupid. Little thought involved. Too easy. Not creative.
Bla, bla, bla. Grumble, grumble, grumble. |

From the main page of this site:
So come on into the forum discussion and say your piece on the matter. A one man show this is not, your input matters.
Oh, by the way, hmarq. Good job. It took you less than two days operating this site to start a 'closeness' policy.
Someone using the 'guest' account make observations on another thread. You had pompous responses to everything that was said, then shut down Guests from making comments on the other groups.
What was the reason? Oh, yeah:
PS ... I didn't intend to leave 'guest' posts in the named forums ... so that's been turned off, but folks are free to do so in the 'just say hi' one at the bottom ... these others are intended for issue resolution of folks willing to participate.
I actually have talent that could have helped this cause. But thankfully, you showed your true colors early enough for those of us with smarts to keep their distance from this knee-jerk, over-reactive venture. |

Try decaf George.
I turned off non-registered posts for the titled forums because I'd like to be able to contact folks, and I didn't want any snide or deragatory remarks about other sites just hanging out there without some (though modest) accountablity.
Your comments here will stand, others can make their own assessment. |

I think you are missing the point, George. This site didn't eliminate guests from posting. Guests are welcome to post in this forum. The other forums are for those with talent, perspective and/or knowledge that want to help develop this site.
Your posts is a perfect example of why this is done. You had this forum to express your opinion. But, you didn't choose to add anything that could help develop this site. If you did (or do in the future), you are welcome to register and join the other forums to help shape this site with your own viewpoint and perspective. _________________ Happiness is having a daughter that wants to play hockey. |

George, I invite you to join the geocaching discussion on the Usenet newsgroup alt.rec.geocaching. Usenet is notoriously difficult to censor. The newsgroup is not moderated. Usenet is not controlled by any single Webmaster. So far, alt.rec.geocaching is almost entirely spam free. The Germans seem to be using it the most. I, for one, would welcome more English language traffic. _________________ Scout http://GPSgames.org
