A good number of online sites have multilingual support for the site text (easy enough to do if you have someone translate everything).

Cache descriptions are more difficult. I did use babelfish though when I went to Dresden. I completed all but the last stage of one multi correctly and I completely botched a second cache. When I went back to my translation, it was more my fault than babelfish...and my biggest dumb-dumb was not taking the printouts to Germany with me.

Babelfish can very often get the jist of what you need even if it uses overly proper wording (instead of colloquial terms) or screws up word order and gender sometimes. I have tried a few times with some friends in other countries by asking them to send me something to translate or sending them a comment in another language and seeing how close to right it is.

I think babelfish would do well enough to get the jist of a cache description (it's the directions and hint that _really_ matter...not the initial items list and extraneous backstory).
