Say I've unofficially adopted a couple of caches whose owners are no longer active. I'm wanting this to be not exclusive to gc.com.
I don't feel right just duplicating their cache page and what not.
A dilemna, indeed.
I guess the best solution would be to beg TPTB to adopt the cache, then I can do what I want. However, I'd be fairly certain that because of my outspokenness, I'm a less desirable canidate to adopt the cache.
Can't have it archived--to put another on in it's place--because it's well maintained--by me!
Almost a Catch-22
Are there other solutions? I'd like to hear it!

I think you'd be surprised. I bet that all other things being equal TPTB would let you adopt.
Otherwise, I guess I'd just file it for future reference not to maintain stuff till you actually 'own' it ... then the archive and place your own would work. |

| The adoption route is still the best. Even if they would rather an active GC member did it, they would rather see a cache maintained than not. That's where I'd place my bet anyway. |

Well, a little bit a faith has been restored in TPTB, namely Nate.
He transfered the caches!
Now, I'm just wondering if I should x-post. I'd certainly put the letterbox up LB.org, though.
