At least in the current common setting, tbugs require an element of secrecy to work correctly ... the tag number is the 'secret key' to allow a log. No taggie, no loggy ... that's tough to do with an open database regardless of the data's internal representation.
Granted you would have to get the xml extract and go out of your way to cheat or be mischevious, but it really isn't that hard ....
Thoughts, comments, solutions? .... I'm not sure the problem is solvable myself. |

The ID itself could be stored hashed I suppose. Anyone wishing to play the tbug game then would need to know to preprocess any lookups through the hash function ....
That can certainly be done, but it adds a little obsfunctification to one of the core tables if it's left in the regular cache table |

Bingo. Same thing for people who want to encode a verification question for virtuals (or any caches, for that matter). Have the answer be run through MD5 or somesuch and you can store the answer in an open database. _________________ Scout http://GPSgames.org

What do you want to do ?
Do you want to know how TB number is hashed ?
OR
Do you want to make an interface who can permit you to log TB automaticaly ?
