I'm thinking is it be a logo that links to a page that has the pledge.
I've got an idea for the logo. "I'VE TAKEN IT" in the center with "The Landowner's Respect Pledge" (or whatever the title ends up being) in a circle. It'd be a little logo you put on your profile page and/or your cache pages. A visitor clicks on it and, idealy, another window pops open to show the pledge.
It's basically a seal that shows you understand and accept the landowner's role and respect their rights.

If it's really going to be a landowner pledge that makes landowners happy they would be the ones to come up with it. We really don't want to go there. I've got a rant all saved up on why if you really want to hear it.
A creed that the geocaching community comes up with would look much different than a landowner derived creed. Though it would still do some good for exactly the reasons you came up with the idea.
Follow up:
The post on GC.com didn't work out as intented. I set up a potential pledge in a way that had humor but showed the intent. The thread stayed on the humor site with one person who said the idea had merit. More read than posted so maybe it will take hold and Coyote will have a pledge or creed before too long. |
